COPPA Compliance Declaration
Project Legacy is designed exclusively for adult parents and legal guardians. Children under the age of 18 are prohibited from creating accounts, calibrating voice profiles, or directly interacting with our primary backend interfaces.
1. Account Ownership & Guardianship
All accounts on the Project Legacy platform are owned, operated, and billed to a verified adult parent or legal guardian. The parent retains full sovereign control over all data associated with the account, including any sub-profiles created to follow a child's progress.
2. Child Profiles & Names
Correction (August 28, 2026): this section previously said we do not collect the full legal names of minors. That was inaccurate, and we have corrected it rather than leave it standing.
The quantitative-analysis engine that personalizes guidance for your family derives its values from your child’s full name and date of birth. You, as the parent or guardian, provide both at registration, with your consent captured at that moment. The app’s interface then displays a short name of your choosing.
- Your child’s name and date of birth are provided by you, never collected from the child, and are used for quantitative-analysis personalization and the educator sessions — never for advertising, and never sold.
- We do not collect government-issued IDs or Social Security numbers for any minor.
- Child Alias IDs are strictly isolated from any public databases and are only accessible by the verified parent account and the assigned educator.
3. The Facility App & Audio Passes
When a parent generates a 6-digit Facility Pass for a daycare, school, or external caregiver via the legacy-facility-app:
- The facility only receives temporary, scoped access to trigger the parent's cloned voice audio.
- The facility cannot view the child's full session history, dyadic telemetry, or the parent's account details.
- Passes expire automatically or can be revoked by the parent at any time.
4. Direct Notice to Parents
In the event of any material changes to our data collection practices regarding child profiles, Project Legacy will provide direct written notice to the verified email address of the parent/guardian account holder, requiring re-authorization before the new practices take effect.
5. Managing Your Child's Data
As the legal guardian, you may review, edit, or permanently delete your child's alias profile and all associated behavioral data at any time via the main dashboard or by submitting a request through our Data Deletion Portal.
